Hey! I'm Matt, owner of The Lawn Engineer, based in Basehor, Kansas.

I studied architectural engineering and earned my master's degree, then spent years working as a practicing professional engineer. That background in systems, precision, and problem-solving carries over directly to how I manage lawns—treating each property as a system that needs thoughtful, effective care to perform well over time.

Five years ago, I launched this business to supplement our family's income with some weekend work. It started small, but I found I enjoyed the hands-on aspect of lawn maintenance far more than expected—diagnosing issues, applying the right fixes, and watching yards improve consistently.
